How to get it online without a wireless adaptor

Microsoft wants you to believe you need a wireless adaptor to get your xbox live running. How ever this is not true. Of course that is one option you can take if your willing to pay $100 for it.

1) this option you can go out, and get you a ethernet cord from wal-mart or some electronic store and hook it up straight from the back of your xbox to your modem. That is if your xbox is cloase enough to your modem.

2) If you have a laptop with wireless internet you can get an ethernet cable, and use your laptop as a wireless adaptor. To do this you need to hook up your ethernet cable to the back of your laptop, and then connect it to the back of the xbox.

-then go to control panel on your laptop
-then click network and internet
-then network and sharing center
-then manage network connections
-then we you see local area connection and wireless network connection highlight them both
-then right click and choose bridge connection
-then you need to right click the network bridge you just set up
-then go to status
-then go to details
-then look and at the ip adress, subnet mask, default gateway, ip4 dns servers
-then after you see the numbers for everything, go into your xbox and go to network settings
-then click configure network
-then set up everything to manual so you can enter your own numbers in there
-then enter all the numbers exactly from the numbers on your network bridge into here, except for the ip adress. Say if your bridge ip is 192.168.2.2 you need to enter it in the xbox as 192.168.2.3
-then after you do this with the ip go down and enter the rest of the numbers as the same thing as your network bridge numbers
